In choosing electives, students are to select an area of
concentration as a possible career to be combined with the study of foreign
language to be approved by the major advisor. Areas such as Agriculture,
Computer Science, Film, Food and Nutrition, Health Education, History,
Linguistics, Literature, Management, Philosophy, Sociology, Urban Planning, or
other similar fields are offered as appropriate examples.

INTERNSHIP/STUDY ABROAD OPTIONS
The Internship/Study Abroad requirement also serves to fulfill
the Senior Thesis requirement. Students must register for a minimum of 3 hours.
A. International Internship done on the FLIT model,
OR
B. The following combination:
1. At least one full semester of study abroad at a university in a
German-speaking country and
2. a domestic internship.
OR
C. Full year of study abroad (2 semesters) as described under B. 1.
It is the responsibility of the student to find an internship, but
s/he does so with guidance of the faculty advisor. Before being effected, the
internship must be fully approved. (For both A and B.2., registration for FL 495
is required.)
